The quest for fitness and weight loss is definitely going strong and shows no sign of letting up. People around the globe are getting the message that being flabby and woefully out of shape is no laughing matter. The number of early deaths to heart disease and type 2 diabetes remains staggering. That’s why I put this blog on Elliptical Reviews together.

The crying shame is that heart disease and type 2 diabetes are preventable.

Unlike many forms of cancer, preventing and even reversing heart disease and type 2 diabetes is well within our control. I know you’ve heard it a gazillion times, but until the world fully embraces these two simple concepts, I’ll repeat them once more:

  • Diet
  • Exercise

Got it? Great!

It’s important to note that what’s simple is not always easy.

Yes, changing what we eat and making the time and effort to work in a bit of exercise is a “deal breaker” for many people. The excuses are often pretty good ones – work and family obligations. But if you don’t take care of you, then you’re not going to be of much use to either your job or your family.

Sorry to put it so bluntly, but sometimes a reality check is what’s called for.

I’m here to help you get on track with the fitness side of things. A lot of folks get very frustrated and confused when it comes to what type of physical activity is best suited to both losing excess weight and also getting in better cardiovascular condition all at the same time.

I have two words for you: “Elliptical Trainers“.

Elliptical trainers are extremely easy to learn how to use and their elliptical motion is a very natural pattern that is rhythmically in tune with the bio-mechanics of the human body. I have nothing against treadmills and like to change things up from time to time by alternating between the elliptical and a treadmill, but my preference lies solidly with the elliptical.

The pounding my body takes on a treadmill is just too much. I really feel it in my lower back after I’m done. Many others feel it more in their knees. None of this occurs with elliptical trainers since they are extremely low-impact fitness machines. It’s almost like you’re gliding on air! But since elliptical training is a “weight-bearing” exercise, you still get the added benefit of bone strengthening. Something you won’t experience from a stationary bike or a rowing machine.

The other great news about elliptical trainers is that you don’t need to get locked into an expensive gym or health club membership. There are many elliptical trainers that have smaller footprints for even apartment use and also will fit within your fitness budget.

The bad news is that most of these “residential” elliptical trainers aren’t worth the cardboard box they come in!

I’ve had experience with elliptical trainers since they first started appearing in health clubs in 1995 and I’ve tried quite a few. In the end there are only 2 brands that I can recommend for home use. Please take a few moments to check out my Elliptical Reviews here at EllipticalStrider.com. You owe it to your own health.
